Prompts to begin
- One thing I will always remember about you is...
- You taught me...
- A moment that still makes me smile is...
- I am grateful for...
- When I think of you, I picture...
- What I want your family to know is...
A simple structure
- Start with who they were to you
- Share one memory or quality
- Say what you will carry with you
- End with a short message of love or thanks
Short example
I will always remember how you made ordinary days feel warm. Your kindness, humour and patience helped so many people feel at home. Thank you for the memories we will keep sharing.
Start privately with one memory
You do not need to write everything today. Begin with a name, one photo and one sentence, then add more when you are ready.
